Ingredients

8 servings
  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm water
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 3 clove garlic (minced, for garlic naan)

How to Make It

    Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Rest 5 minutes until foamy.

    Mix flour, salt, yogurt, milk, and yeast mixture. Knead 8 minutes until smooth. Rise 1 hour.

    Divide into 8 balls. Roll each into an oval about 1/4" thick.

    Heat a cast iron skillet over very high heat until smoking.

    Cook naan 1-2 minutes per side until charred bubbles form.

    Brush with garlic butter while hot. Serve immediately.
