Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 head butter lettuce (leaves separated)
  • 2 avocados (sliced)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 limes (cut into wedges)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

How to Make It

  1. 1

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook 3 minutes. Add garlic and all spices, cook 1 minute.

  2. 2

Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up, until no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add 3 tablespoons water and stir — this keeps the turkey from drying out.

  3. 3

Arrange butter lettuce cups on a platter. Spoon turkey mixture into each leaf.

  4. 4

Top with avocado slices, cherry tomatoes, and fresh cilantro. Squeeze lime over everything just before eating.
